Internet and WiFi

The use of the wireless network is granted to the following categories of users and types of access

Staff of the entities belonging to the Eduroam federation with the credentials issued by the entities to which they belong.
Città Studi joins the Italian federation Eduroam (Education Roaming) as a Resource Provider, a service that allows authorized users to authenticate for free in a fast and safe way.
The service is active in the following areas:

  • University
  • Library
  • Residence

What is Eduroam 

Eduroam is a secure wireless network, developed for the community of universities and research institutions, used worldwide by millions of users of thousands of universities in more than 70 countries.

Thanks to Eduroam, users of any institution participating in the initiative can connect to the Internet on their own, as at any other institution where such a network is present. Wherever you connect, you will use the same login credentials as your home institution, without the need for additional formalities at the host institution.

Who can connect

Students, researchers and teachers of Italian and European universities and research institutes associated with Eduroam.

How to access
To access it, you must connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network using the credentials and access methods issued by your home institution (university or institution).  For further information.

Regulation

By using the service, users must comply with the GARR AUP (Acceptable User Policy) and the service usage rules (where applicable) of the Internet service provider.

The Wi-Fi network is reserved for Staff and Collaborators of Città Studi with credentials issued by the IT service or users subscribed to the digital services of the Library.

The service is active in the following areas:

  • University
  • Library
  • Residence
  • Congress Centre
  • Vocational training

How to access

To access, you must connect to the MEGAWEB Wi-Fi network and enter your login credentials.

Before connecting, verify that:

  • in the settings of the LAN or WiFi adapter is selected: “Automatically get an IP address” and “Get DNS server address automatically”
  • No proxy server is set in browser settings

Credentials are valid for a single connection, meaning no simultaneous connections are possible with the same credentials (e.g. laptop and smartphone).

The Wi-Fi network is reserved for persons temporarily present at the Città Studi campus who have access credentials for guests issued or communicated by Città Studi or by the Organizers of events and events.

How to access

To access, you need to connect to the Wi-Fi network communicated by the IT office or by the event organizers, by entering the credentials or password
